2010 Season Preview
After such an exciting 2009 season, the 2010 Golden Knights are excited to build on last year's success and once again battle for the Mission League title and the CIF Western Conference Championship.
The 2010 season will be unique in many ways; however, the biggest changes comes with the newly expanded Mission League and plenty of new opponents.
The Mission League expanded to six teams, substracting Alemany and added Cathedral, Harvard Westlake and defending state champions Serra, St. Francis, Chaminade and St. Paul round out the new Mission League.
The always-tough schedule includes our season opener at home vs Arcadia, a second week visit to Crescenta Valley and new non-league opponents Venice (home), West Ranch (away) and a week five visit to Paso Robles. "I am excited about the new league and some great new opponents. It will be a great challenge for this team," says Head Coach Jim Bonds.
The leadership on the team comes from this years honorary GOLDEN KNIGHTS: Patrick Carroll, Michael Melnick and Brett Nelson. "This is a great group of leaders on a team that has exhibited great chemistry to date," Bonds said. "We are looking forward to see how it all comes together on the field beginning in September."
Coach Bonds, entering his 11th season looks forward to this years challenge. "Lots of new faces, new opponents and new Mission league. It is sure to be an exciting season."
Please come out and support our team.
